In 1998 he released a disc of French music for two pianos with Olga Balakleets, which includes a live Moscow performance of Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos. He has recorded for radio broadcast in many countries but most frequently with Radio Suisse Romande; Gallant was the first to record the piano music of the late Heinrich Sutermeister. Julian has made recordings with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and produced musical documentaries for Sky Arts.
